Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

Seeking skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs) for an MS/Onc unit. This role involves caring for primarily medical-surgical patients with oncology histories, including administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy. The manager is looking for RNs who can excel in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a medical-surgical setting, focusing on patients with oncology backgrounds.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy as needed.
• Conduct assessments and monitor patient conditions, including critical situations such as septic shock, AKI, and diabetic foot ulcers.
• Manage intravenous access, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate effectively using SBAR documentation.
• Float as required to similar units and alternate care locations when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and standards of care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical inpatient setting required.
• One year of traveling experience preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome.
• Must possess current RN license and ONC certification (required for oncology nursing).
• BLS certification is required; CPI certification preferred.
• Ability to administer chemotherapy and manage various patient care needs.
• Experience with Med/Surg protocols, colostomy care, accessing ports, peripheral line management, and wound care.
