Medical Surgical/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, weekdays, every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care to adult patients battling cancer, focusing on surgical and medical needs, as well as palliative care. This role will involve family education regarding oncological processes and will include caring for urology and telemetry patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and chemotherapy as per protocols.
• Monitor patients and manage telemetry and central line care.
• Assist in bone marrow aspiration and care for patients with pleurx chest tubes.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and oncological processes.
• Float between departments as required by the facility.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of nursing experience required.
• West Virginia or Compact RN License required (pending license acceptable).
• BLS certification required.
• ONCC/ONS chemotherapy administration certification preferred.
