Job Description

The Critical Care Registered Nurse (ICU) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering care to critically ill patients from adolescence to geriatrics. The role involves caring for a wide variety of patient diagnoses, including medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgical cases. The nurse maintains professional nursing standards and supervises CNAs, SNAs, LPNs, or other health care workers as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Supervise and support junior staff in patient care activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of ICU experience, particularly in Surgical and Cardiac care.
• Experience with open heart returns is preferred.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA) are required.
• Must hold a valid Michigan RN license.
