Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety as part of our commitment to exceptional healthcare service.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses, collaborating with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, providing direct patient care based on nursing processes.
- Initiate discharge planning on admission day and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to support continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
- Contribute to a positive unit environment through effective team communication and collaboration.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested and maintain professional growth through continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific facility only).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
Schedule
This is a 13-week contract position with night shifts scheduled at 3 days per week, 12 hours each.
