Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) - Night Shift

Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical assessment skills and the ability to function well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations.
• Assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual requirements.
• Implement safety measures for self and patients during care.
• Assume charge nurse duties when required, prioritizing and delegating tasks as necessary.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of nursing principles to ensure quality patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Experience with MEDITECH software.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Critical Care and charge experience preferred.
• Must achieve IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification during orientation.
• Successful completion of lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and defibrillation certification within six months of employment.
