Registered Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts: 19:00 - 07:00 (7 PM - 7 AM), working 3 shifts per week.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing cardiopulmonary services in compliance with protocols approved by medical staff and departmental policies. The role includes delivering therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Deliver medicated aerosols via medical compressed gas.
• Maintain airways and manage ventilators.
• Perform arterial line insertions and intubations.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and cardiac/pulmonary stress tests.
• Analyze blood gases.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Current FL RRT or CRT license required.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are mandatory.
• Experience working independently in a NICU setting; pediatric experience is also acceptable.
• Familiarity with the Medhost charting system is preferred.
