Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Job Description

The RN partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care. The position includes working in specialized units such as:

• 3 East: A 31-bed specialized unit for Alzheimer’s and dementia residents, focusing on tailored care and effective communication techniques.
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: A 42-bed unit offering short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients recovering from various medical conditions.
• 3 West: A long-term care unit providing necessary support to residents in a home-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in various specialized units.
• Ensure a therapeutic environment through effective communication with residents.
• Administer medications and perform medical procedures as needed.
• Assist with assessments and develop care plans tailored to resident needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.

Schedule

This position is for night shifts, running from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Valid State of Maine or compact RN license required.
• 1-3 years of previous RN experience preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills essential.
• Flexibility required to cover shifts and float to other units as needed.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
