Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
Job Description
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the Clinical Specialist, the Manager, and the Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The CT Technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as technology changes for both themselves and others. In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, Technologists perform CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those receiving intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. The Computed Tomography Technologist practices and enforces radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
Schedule
Tuesday to Friday; 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM (no on-call responsibility)
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Education: Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and a high school graduate.
- Licensure, Certification & Registration:
- New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- Experience: Entry Level; limited or no experience accepted; MIT Level assigned based on skill set and experience.
