Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
Job Description
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for performing technical procedures under the direction of the Medical Director and other designated officials, as well as assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. This role involves creating diagnostic images using specific CT modalities while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients. Additionally, technologists support ongoing education to stay current with evolving technology.
Responsibilities include performing CT scans on a variety of patients including outpatients, inpatients (both stable and in intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT-guided procedures. The CT Technologist will also practice and enforce radiation safety measures per New York State Department of Health code part 16.
Schedule
Friday to Sunday, 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM with no on-call responsibilities. This position consists of three 12-hour shifts per week.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and a high school graduate.
- New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- Entry-level; limited or no experience acceptable; MIT level assigned based on skillset and experience.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
