Job Description

The Registered Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, continuing to develop the ability to manage various clinical situations and making appropriate assignments to other care providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Active RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
