Clinical Staff Educator - Day Shift
Job Description
The Clinical Staff Educator reports to the Clinical Education Department Manager and provides education and instruction focused on clinical staff. This role acts as a resource for all staff regarding healthcare education and training programs, introducing technical and theoretical concepts in teaching techniques to staff and others as needed. The Clinical Staff Educator supports the development of education in collaboration with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators, and is proficient in simulation training using mannequins and software.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties efficiently while managing multiple tasks.
- Accept responsibility for directing and planning activities.
- Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Work independently and complete assignments as scheduled, communicating barriers when necessary.
- Prioritize and re-prioritize job duties throughout the day.
- Evaluate programs and participant learning, making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle information appropriately.
- Foster teamwork and cooperation among staff.
- Communicate effectively and convey empathy and compassion in interactions.
- Support the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in educational programs as applicable to the position.
- Assist with Quality Department activities as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or equivalent experience and National certifications with a commitment to obtain a bachelor’s degree within three years of hire).
- Current Oregon RN license is required.
- Healthcare Provider CPR, CNOR, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
- Minimum of 5 years of hospital nursing experience, with at least 3 years of OR experience.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing and internet use.
- Preferred: Experience teaching and developing courses, including direct teaching and evaluating learning processes.
