Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift with 4x10-hour schedule from 07:00 to 15:30. Floating required according to facility needs.

Job Description

The Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry unit. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, interpreting dysrhythmias, managing emergencies, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as necessary.
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airway management.
• Provide peripheral line care and management.
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Participate in weekend rotations and holidays as scheduled.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Med Surg/Tele nursing.
• Current New York State RN License.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Charge experience preferred.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 5-6 is preferred.
• Familiarity with various charting systems.
