Physical Therapist - Day Shift

Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. This role is responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients and ensures the design of functional treatment programs for effective return to community activities. The Physical Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves while performing other professional duties related to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive evaluation of assigned patients.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients towards discharge within an established length of stay.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address all barriers to discharge, including timely equipment trialing and ordering.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions based on patient care needs effectively and efficiently.
• Document medical records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate supervision and evaluation.
• Actively create and pursue an individualized professional development plan.
• Participate in patient and professional advocacy efforts in the community.
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
• Understand and apply performance improvement methodologies to enhance service quality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid State license as a Physical Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience is highly desired.
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.

Schedule

This position is for the Day Shift, working 5 days a week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
