Outpatient Physical Therapist - New Grad

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients, developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician directives. This role involves the delegation and direction of discipline-specific therapy services, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate a successful return to community activities. The therapist will also educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves while upholding the organization's mission and core values, focusing on safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans and goals to progress patients towards discharge within an established length of stay.
• Document all medical records clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner, following state, federal, and clinic guidelines.
• Provide care under valid physician orders and insured approvals as needed.
• Participate in the student program by offering a positive learning environment with necessary supervision and evaluations.
• Create personalized professional development plans and engage in continuing education and self-study.
• Adhere to the state practice act and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
• Contribute to organizational performance improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor’s or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Active physical therapist license in the state where work will be performed.
• Previous experience in a similar role is highly desired.

Schedule

This is a 5x8.0 schedule, focusing on outpatient therapy sessions.
