Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery / Postpartum
Job Description
We are seeking a competent Registered Nurse with expertise in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care. This position requires practicing independently and demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. The Registered Nurse will provide both routine and complex care while managing long-range goals and plans, effectively coping with and handling contingencies of clinical nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of treatments.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
- Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
- Certification required in AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
- Current STABLE certification, NRP certification, BLS certification, and ACLS certification required.
- Experience in Perinatal settings preferred.
Schedule
This position is a full-time role with a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
