Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures while ensuring high-quality patient care. This role requires expertise in selecting exposure factors, patient positioning, and the use of radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images. The technologist will assist Radiologists during procedures, maintain medication security, and complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in operation of imaging equipment and report malfunctions.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Complete all assigned procedures efficiently, assisting with room turnover as needed.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

Schedule

This position requires availability for a 5x8hr schedule, including on-call, callback, and holiday shifts as needed by the unit. Expect 5-7 call shifts per 7-week time block, with 2-4 of these shifts occurring on weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two (2) years of experience in a relevant imaging role.
• NYS License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• VIR Certification preferred.
