This is a full-time position requiring an 8-hour shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, five days a week.

Job Description

The Radiology Specialist Assistant provides patient care services under the supervision of a physician, delivering safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. This role performs patient assessments, supports clinical procedures, and collaborates with the healthcare team across various patient age groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services within the scope of practice and privileges.
• Perform patient assessments using age-specific growth and development principles.
• Assist the supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management.
• Maintain patient flow and organize clinical workload effectively.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Document procedures accurately and educate patients on procedures, obtaining informed consent as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and infection control guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an approved course of study acceptable to the New York State Education Department.
• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field; certification as a Radiologist Assistant (RA) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a radiology focus is preferred.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology are desirable.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
