Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
Schedule
They will work 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM four days during the week, with on-call requirements of roughly four weeknight shifts and one weekend shift per month.

Job Description
The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II demonstrates a thorough understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. This role assists with the orientation and training of Cath Lab staff and is responsible for special projects, including participation in relevant committees. Adhering to the principles of medical ethics, the Cath Lab Tech II recognizes and interprets ECG changes, responds appropriately to lethal arrhythmias, and monitors diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures.
Responsibilities
- Recognize ECG waveform morphology and their significance.
- Document medications accurately and understand pharmacokinetics actions related to cardiac and vascular functions.
- Alert physicians to abnormalities in clinical laboratory values.
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to ACLS standards.
- Monitor and record catheterization events and calculate basic hemodynamic parameters.
- Provide necessary supplies and set up for diagnostic cardiac catheterizations.
- Differentiate between types of percutaneous interventions and understand extraction devices.
- Explain indications and potential complications of thrombolytic therapy for acute myocardial infarction.
- Identify main components of Cath Lab fluoroscopy systems to ensure proper visibility for procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cath/EP lab.
- RCIS or RCES licensure is preferred; ARRT licensure is acceptable with scrub experience in Cath Lab.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Knowledge of the Merge Hemo documentation system preferred.
