Registered Nurse - Cardiac Medical Progressive Care

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit. This position requires a strong focus on cardiac patients, with responsibilities including the management of acute conditions and various cardiac interventions. The RN will provide patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiac patients experiencing conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure and Acute Coronary Syndrome.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and manage cardiac drips as well as vasoactive drips without titration.
• Conduct pre/post cardiac catheterization care, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Administer procedural sedation and manage tracheostomies and chest tubes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in rapid response teams.

Schedule

This position is for day shifts, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM), including weekend rotation and holidays as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar setting.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• Certifications in ACLS and BLS; NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Charge RN experience is preferred.
• Ability to pass the required EKG exam during compliance.
