This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12.0 hours/week, primarily weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM with on-call responsibilities as per unit need.

Job Description

The Cardiac OR RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) is responsible for assisting with chest exposure and closing, as well as performing vein harvesting independently for CABG surgeries. The role may also involve assisting in DaVinci robotic cases and scrubbing/circulating complex cardiac cases, which may include CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall), minimally invasive procedures (e.g., Mini Aortic Valve Replacement), heart failure cases (e.g., Impella), and heart transplants. Experience in heart transplant cases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing in cardiac surgeries.
• Perform independent vein harvesting for CABGs.
• Assist in DaVinci robotic cases (preferred but not required).
• Scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases (preferred but not required).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• New York State RN license.
• CNOR certification.
• Telemetry experience.
