Registered Nurse - Full Time Position

Schedule

This position requires a 4-day work schedule, with 10-hour shifts from 06:00 to 16:00.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will demonstrate proficiency and independence in the care of patients and their families by applying and documenting the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will consult with staff, physicians, and management on nursing problems and interpret hospital policies to ensure patient needs are being met. Continuous learning of new skills to maintain clinical competency is essential for directly providing safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Promotes positive public relations for the department and the hospital, presenting oneself in a professional manner.
• Ability to problem solve patient/family issues to a positive conclusion for all involved.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills to interact with individuals of varying ages and cultures.
• Practices the five rights of medication administration.
• Exhibits efficient time management skills to maximize productivity.
• Encourages teamwork and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Acts as a patient advocate while respecting confidentiality and cultural beliefs.
• Utilizes the chain of command appropriately to resolve issues.
• Participates in hospital and departmental quality activities as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current RN License in the state of NM required.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• ACLS certification required (AHA only).
