Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3 shifts per week)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is accountable for delivering patient care through the Nursing Process. The nurse utilizes critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure the safe delivery of care. Continuous education is maintained to uphold clinical competencies, and patient care priorities are delegated appropriately based on staff experience and education. The nurse also provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to Emergency Department patients.
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care planning.
• Delegate patient care tasks based on staff education and experience.
• Monitor and supervise assigned personnel in delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) - Cerner required.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred (additional compensation available).
• Must be willing to float between different units as needed.
