Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while ensuring patient and employee safety in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs of patients and collaborate with families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Utilize the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, focusing on education and quality outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to nursing personnel while effectively managing priorities.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning, ensuring calm environments for patients and staff.
• Assume charge responsibility when requested and identify own professional growth opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
