Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are scheduled from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a total of three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend coverage is required for four weekends a month, alternating between morning and evening shifts.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care for pediatric patients with various conditions, ranging from routine procedures to critical care needs. This role requires proficiency in pediatric nursing and acute care in an intensive care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in a critical and intensive care setting.
• Perform essential procedures, including lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation.
• Monitor patient vitals and implement appropriate interventions based on clinical assessments.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to devise and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain patient safety and dignity at all times, ensuring compassionate care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience in pediatric nursing and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
