Registered Nurse - Weekend Nights
Job Description
This is a 13-week contract position. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with the health care team using evidence-based practice, demonstrating accountability and respect for patients, families, and coworkers while providing safe and optimal patient outcomes. The role promotes continuity of care by effectively communicating with the interdisciplinary team and families as appropriate. The RN will direct the work of support staff in the provision of care and perform general nursing duties utilizing critical thinking skills with minimal supervision. The position requires the ability to work with age-specific populations according to the setting.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and family members.
- Direct the work of support staff during the provision of care.
- Utilize critical thinking skills in executing nursing duties.
- Provide care to patients across various age-specific populations.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
- Current Registration and Licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
- Current AHA Heart Code BLS certification required (to be completed within three months after hire date).
- Current ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications (new employees should obtain as per guidelines).
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward others.
- Basic computer knowledge and technical skills related to nursing judgment.
