Progressive Critical Care Unit Nurse

Job Description

The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. Responsibilities include care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Nurses are expected to be competent in medical and surgical patient care, including advanced hemodynamic monitoring and managing various infusions.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for high acuity patients, typically 3 per nurse.
• Administer and monitor pressor usage and titration protocols.
• Manage antihypertensive, sedative, narcan, and thrombo-embolic drips.
• Utilize advanced respiratory support including HFNC, BiPap/Cpap.
• Participate in infection prevention protocols.
• Perform competency testing as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Epic experience is REQUIRED.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Experience in adult PCU and community hospital ICU preferred.
