What do you love most about your role?
Finding nurses the most perfect assignments to fit into their life. Whether their goal is to travel somewhere awesome, make more money, get a little more flexibility travel assignments tend to offer so they can achieve a little more work/life balance, or somewhere in between it all. Something about being the one to be able to help facilitate that dream is a feeling that never gets old as a seasoned recruiter.
What experience or background do you bring to your work with nurses or clients?
The awesome part about working with me is that I've worked many sides of this business. Local contract, travel contract, per diem staffing, even account management. Being in this industry for over a decade has allowed me to help many nurses navigate the world of travel nursing with exceptional expertise. A common theme about the nurses I work with is always that they are appreciative of me being up front, honest, and realistic from the get-go. I'm also never afraid to ask for something for them, and will go to bat with them when necessary.
What motivates you each day?
I love getting to talk to new people every day. I also know that my nurses rely on me for their livelihood. I feel a deep sense of responsibility to the nurses I work with 100% of the time. But my favorite is getting the, "Yes I accept," from a nurse. It sounds funny, but there's no feeling like it!
What’s something people are surprised to learn about you?
Either how short I am (4'11" lol - pictures are deceiving!), or that I have two Cane Corsi (Italian Mastiffs) - such big dogs for a smaller person!
What’s your go-to way to recharge outside of work?
Being a multitasker at heart, my favorite time of day is at night time when my daughters and my hubby are sleeping - because that's when I get to indulge in my favorite pastime of playing video games (PS5) and listening to a book on Audible - at the same time! Current favorites include Hogwarts Legacy, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, and Borderlands 3. As for books, I love authors like Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell, Nora Roberts, Lucinda Berry, and Shari Lapena.
Do you have a favorite place you’ve traveled—or one on your bucket list?
I do love Mexico! Or anywhere tropical, really! Though Italy, Ireland, and Scotland are on my bucket list. I've yet to go across the pond and would love to visit those places someday!
