Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM, with floating required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Newborn Nursery is responsible for providing care during the immediate neonatal phase, utilizing the Nursing Process in alignment with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This position requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in the delivery of safe patient care. The nurse will maintain clinical competencies, delegate patient care priorities, and provide supervision of staff delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to newborn nursery patients, including stable level 2 babies.
• Utilize the Nursing Process and adhere to hospital policy and procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel in patient care delivery.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Newborn Nursery setting.
• Experience in couplet care.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
