Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) with 48 hours guaranteed, EOW and EOH.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Step-Down unit will provide care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), post-heart catheterization, post-vascular procedures, respiratory failure (BiPAP/CPAP/Vapotherm), and cardiac dysrhythmias. The nurse will manage post-heart cath care, monitor patients with TR bands, and perform frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including emergency medications and blood products.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Manage IV therapy including PICC line management and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Conduct procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Provide care and management for patients post cardiac cath and MI.
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Step-Down nursing experience.
• Experience with cardiac and neurological care, including CVA management.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
