Job Description

The Registered Nurse First Assist will be responsible for supporting surgical procedures in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at a Level 2 Trauma Center. The role involves providing direct patient care, assisting in complex cardiovascular surgeries, and ensuring that the operating room is prepared with the necessary equipment and instruments. The RNFA will work closely with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and thoracic procedures.
• Provide circulating and scrubbing support during surgical procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with family members through hourly updates.
• Utilize MediTech for documentation and reporting patient care.
• Collaborate with a professional team to ensure optimal patient safety and outcomes.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cardiovascular surgery.
• Experience in assisting with complex surgical procedures.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification required.
• Current RN license in the state of Florida or ability to obtain.
