Schedule/Shift

This position requires 4x10 hour shifts on day shift, with weekends, holidays, and on-call/callback as needed. Expect to be on call 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist in Interventional Radiology will demonstrate competence in performing radiographic procedures while working alongside the Radiologist during examinations. Responsibilities will include administering oral contrast, preparing patients for procedures, operating various imaging equipment, and ensuring that all assigned procedures are completed in a timely manner. This role requires sensitivity to patient rights and the ability to cooperate with team members to address issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Select exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce high-quality radiologic images.
• Prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems.
• Administer oral contrast as needed per exam.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing downtime to assist with other departmental tasks such as clerical duties and inventory management.
• Understand and maintain medication security protocols, ensuring only authorized personnel have access.
• Provide quality healthcare services to patients across all age groups.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with patients and staff.

Required Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Radiologic Technologist license in New York.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• AART certification is required.
• Vascular Interventional Radiography (VIR) is preferred but not mandatory.
