ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Neurosurgery (Rotating Shift) in Rochester, New York.

Schedule/Shift

Rotating shift schedule with weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback requirements; 36 or 48 hours per week.

Job Description

The neurosurgical unit provides exceptional opportunities to care for a diverse patient population, including those undergoing treatment for brain tumors, spinal malformations, neuroendovascular procedures, and epilepsy surgery. This unit includes both a general floor-level and a high-acuity step-down unit, serving patients with complex needs requiring hemodynamic and neurological monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform Q1 neuro checks and monitor patients with EVDs, lumbar drains, and subdural drains.
• Administer 3% NS, Cardene drips, and manage arterial lines.
• Assist with carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coiling/clipping, and DBS insertion.
• Manage VP shunts and seizure management protocols.

Required Experience

• Two (2) years of step-down or progressive care unit experience.
• High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience.
• Telemetry experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York (only NY licenses accepted).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• ACLS certification (preferred).
• NIHSS certification required.
