Shift hours are from 1900 to 0700, requiring every other weekend and holiday availability.

Job Description

Join the skilled nursing team as a Licensed Practical Nurse on a Medical-Surgical unit, caring for a diverse patient population with conditions such as COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, and social issues. This position involves critical clinical support, working under the guidance of Registered Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops).
• Conduct vital signs, pain assessments, and monitor intake/output.
• Provide oxygen administration and manage feeding tubes.
• Perform Foley catheter insertions and clean catch urine collections.
• Engage in telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG procedures.
• Manage wound care basics including simple dressings and drains.
• Communicate promptly with RNs and MDs regarding patient status changes.

Required Experience

Must have a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the last 2 years.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active New York Single State LPN license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
