The position requires the ability to work Night Shifts (3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30).
Job Description
This is a role focused on providing high-risk perinatal care in a Level III facility. The unit consists of 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, and 30 postpartum beds. Clinicians will have access to comprehensive maternity services, including operating rooms and PACU. The documentation system in use is EPIC, and the department is staffed with several skilled RNs and CNAs for patient support.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery.
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and ensure maternal and neonatal safety.
- Monitor and assess fetal and maternal health throughout the labor process.
- Administer medications and monitor for effects.
- Provide education and support to mothers regarding breastfeeding and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC).
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery is required. Candidates should have experience in facilities handling 100-300 deliveries annually.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license (Compact license required)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring certification
