ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Night Shift) in Baltimore, Maryland.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

12-hour shifts are available. Day shift is from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Night shift is from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Travelers will be scheduled for 5 weekends within each 6-week schedule.

Job Description

This position is in a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that serves infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients. Common diagnoses include respiratory distress/failure, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), seizures, pain management, and sepsis. The unit manages patients requiring moderate sedation, continuous drips, arterial lines, and central lines. Charting is done using the Cerner system.

Responsibilities

• Caring for ventilated pediatric patients and managing acute airways.
• Administering moderate sedation and continuous drips.
• Managing arterial lines and central lines.
• Interpreting basic EKG readings and conducting ICP monitoring.
• Providing care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including DKA and respiratory failure.
• Floating to NICU and Pediatrics as per hospital needs.

Required Experience

• 1 year of PICU experience is required.
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience is required.
• Experience with central line and PICC line management is required.
• Must be comfortable with anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, and pediatric dosage calculations.
• ICP monitoring experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• BCLS/BLS certification is required.
• PALS certification is required.
• Basic EKG Exam certification is required.
• MD or compact RN license required upon submission.
