Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts (07:00 AM - 07:00 PM)

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting intensive respiratory therapy, and facilitating patient transport as directed. The therapist will evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans, educating patients about their care and accompanying treatments.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician-prescribed respiratory treatments utilizing various ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and suctioning via multiple techniques (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).
• Monitor and perform oximetry and capnography according to established policies.
• Review patients' chest x-rays and assist with procedures related to respiratory care.
• Perform tracheostomy care and assist with endotracheal tube management.
• Engage in pulmonary function studies and assist with laboratory testing as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the care team, including physician updates and hand-off reports during shift changes.
• Document patient treatments and responses on appropriate records and charts.

Required Experience

Experience in a clinical respiratory therapy setting preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

Current Respiratory Therapist licensure is required; BLS and ACLS certifications are also preferred.
