Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the ICU will provide high-quality care to adult patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention. The position includes working with a patient population that may experience various critical conditions such as COPD, ARF, DKA, Sepsis, and Shock. The nurse will utilize the Meditech EMR system for documentation and leverage advanced equipment in the ICU, including cardiac monitors and bedside dialysis capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an effective and efficient manner, adhering to best practices in the ICU.
- Monitor patient conditions and interpret EKG results, implementing appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications and titrate critical drips as necessary, including vasopressors and sedation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
Required Experience
A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in an ICU or similar high-acuity unit is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
