This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3 shifts per week: 2 shifts at Harrisburg and 1 shift at Camp Hill; day shift from 07:00 to 19:00.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality care through intensive respiratory support and patient transport as medically prescribed. This role includes evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge. The therapist operates a variety of ventilatory and aerosol devices, administers medications, and performs chest physiotherapy to promote effective secretion clearance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Explain treatment procedures, tests, and equipment to patients.
• Perform routine and emergency respiratory care procedures including suctioning and ventilatory support.
• Conduct monitoring such as oximetry and capnography.
• Review and assess chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care.
• Document treatment details and patient responses accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Participate in equipment maintenance and quality control of respiratory devices.

Required Experience

Experience in performing comprehensive respiratory therapy procedures and managing complex patient needs is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

Current Respiratory Care License is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are also necessary.
