This position requires night shifts, specifically 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting, working predominantly in the ICU/PCU with the potential to float to the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) as needed. The RN will assess and identify patient needs, ensure safety through preventative measures, and implement infection control procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, effectively communicating with the healthcare team, and responding to emergency situations as required.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and significant others' needs for education and provide appropriate education.
• Ensure patient safety through the application of preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints).
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
• Implement and document infection control and isolation procedures using proper protocols.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses during shifts.
• Ensure timely completion of physician orders and document charge accurately.
• Conduct 24-hour checks of orders when applicable to assigned duties.
• Provide thorough change of shift reports to incoming staff.
• Communicate critical lab values to physicians in a timely manner, adhering to policy.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• Current and active RN license in the state of Washington or a multi-state RN license.
• Experience in ICU/PCU settings is required.
• Ability to float to Medical-Surgical Unit as needed.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
