Schedule/Shift

Friday - Sunday, 7pm - 7:30am EST. This position requires on-call shifts and holiday coverage per unit needs.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will be responsible for confirming patient identity and exam verification prior to the start of scans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The role involves coordinating with physicians for diagnostic imaging, preparing patients for scans, and explaining procedures to alleviate discomfort. The technologist may need to insert IVs and assist in positioning patients safely, particularly those with limited mobility.

Accurate documentation is essential, with responsibilities including maintaining patient records in EPIC, managing the identification of images, and ensuring images are properly sent to the PACS system after exams. A clean and safe scanning facility must also be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification before initiating scans.
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging needs.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedures to enhance comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary and assist in safely positioning patients.
• Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC, including image identification and documentation.
• Ensure proper transmission of images to the PACS system upon exam completion.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the scanning area.

Required Experience

• Two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Experience with Siemens and Philips imaging equipment is preferred.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY) is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active CT Technologist License in New York State required prior to starting the position.
• Injection therapy certification is required and must be stated on the license at the time of submission.
