ARMStaffing is looking for a Surgical Technologist, Operating Room (Night Shift) in Saginaw, Michigan.

Schedule/Shift

This position operates on a Night Shift schedule, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with 36 hours guaranteed each week and no call required. The schedule includes working every third weekend.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in assisting surgeons during operations by preparing operating rooms, assisting with equipment and instrument checks, and ensuring all sterile techniques are maintained. The technologist will work closely with surgical teams to anticipate procedural needs, ensure the availability of necessary supplies, and maintain an organized sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures and problem-solving skills relevant to surgeries.
• Verify and assemble necessary equipment and supplies in accordance with the physician's preference card.
• Maintain accurate counts of medications, instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout operations.
• Monitor the sterile field and recognize any breaks in sterile technique.
• Set up the sterile field with instruments, ensuring timely preparation for surgical procedures.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) experience.
• Level 2 Trauma experience.
• Proficiency in Orthopedic, Vascular, Neurological, General/Gynecological, and Urology procedures.
• Recent travel work experience is highly preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification.
