Schedule/Shift
This position requires a shift of 19:00 to 07:00, working 3x12-hour shifts weekly. Weekend call requirements apply, and upon being placed on call, you must be able to report within 30 minutes.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a 30-bed unit, focusing on adult and geriatric patients. The nurse will encounter a diverse patient population including those with STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, and acute respiratory failure. Team members use the Medhost electronic health record (EHR) to maintain accurate patient documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implement care plans, and evaluate patient responses.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed.
- Participate in patient and family education and support services.
Required Experience
Candidates must have at least 2 years of recent acute care experience, with a preference for candidates who have travel nursing experience.
Certifications/Licensure
Current state RN license is required. Additional certifications in ACLS or BLS may be preferred.
