Schedule/Shift
This position requires a schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, working nights from 19:00 to 07:30, with every other weekend and holiday required as scheduled.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide care to a diverse patient population across all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics, in a fast-paced environment with an average daily census of 130 patients. The nurse will be responsible for managing a variety of complex patient diagnoses and providing appropriate interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Perform assessments, triage patients, and prioritize treatment based on medical need.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and changes in condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience in an Emergency Department, with a preference for 2 years.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:4.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license in the state of Maryland or compact license.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
