The position requires three 12-hour night shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The facility provides care for a broad age range including pediatric patients up to 26 years old. Nurses will be responsible for evaluating and managing patients with congenital disease processes and varying acuity levels. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more. Nurses are expected to be adaptable and willing to float between the Akron Main Campus and the Summa location, as well as support the Burn Center when needed.

Responsibilities

• Caring for patients in the PICU with varying diagnoses and acuity levels.
• Providing care for ventilated patients, ensuring infection control practices are followed.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Utilizing the Epic charting system for documentation and patient management.
• Advocating for personal learning needs and utilizing available resources.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PICU or similar setting.
• Experience caring for ventilated patients.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in Ohio or Compact state.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
