ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Cardiac Progressive Care (Day Shift) in Hilo, Hawaii.

Schedule/Shift

Day shift: 0645 to 1915. Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guaranteed hours. No call required.

Job Description

The position is within a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, which includes a 3-bed step down ICU and 12 telemetry beds. Responsibilities include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks. The unit operates Monday through Friday, carrying out various procedures with the aid of Meditech charting, Pyxis for medications, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit environment.
• Monitor telemetry and read telemetry strips as necessary.
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar tests.
• Utilize Meditech charting and Pyxis for medication management.
• Float to other acute units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER, as needed.

Required Experience

At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year is required. Progressive Care and telemetry experience is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

Must possess a current State of Hawaii nursing license. ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
