Job Description

The NICU unit at St. David’s Medical Center offers care for critically ill neonates and has a capacity of 65 beds. The team consists of over 200 staff members, including nurses, transport nurses, respiratory therapists, and unit assistants. The unit utilizes advanced technology and equipment such as incubators, ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, and breast pumps, integrated with Meditech and CPN for electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical nursing care to neonates in the NICU.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document patient information accurately.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute care plans.
• Utilize NICU-specific equipment and technology for effective patient management.
• Ensure compliance with unit policies and procedures.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience.
• Experience in a Level 4 NICU is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS and NRP certifications are required.
