Schedule/Shift

7A - 7P with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care. Weekend requirements include 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule.

Job Description

The Pediatric Cardiac ICU provides specialized care to patients with congenital heart conditions. This unit consists of 10 beds and partners closely with the PICU, sharing resources and support. Nurses will work with cutting-edge equipment such as Phillips monitors, Med fusion, and Baxter pumps while using the Meditech EMR system. The nursing team highly values evidence-based practice and emphasizes safety and quality metrics in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients post-operatively with inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions.
• Manage intravenous fluids and chest tubes effectively.
• Provide care for post-sternotomy and open chest patients.
• Administer moderate sedation as required.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Critical Care experience.
• Experience with cardiac and pediatric critical care is highly preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO at the bedside is preferred.
