Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist in the Stress Lab is responsible for performing exercise, pharmaceutical, and echo stress tests, as well as monitoring and recording patient conditions during these tests. They will recognize chest pain and arrhythmias, responding appropriately and securing additional assistance as needed. The role also involves preparing preliminary paperwork for cardiologist interpretation and managing stress lab supplies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition during stress testing.
• Prepare preliminary paperwork for cardiologist interpretation.
• Perform exercise, pharmaceutical, and echo stress tests.
• Recognize chest pain and arrhythmias, responding as needed.
• Manage stress lab supplies, including stocking and inventory.
• Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment as necessary.
• Troubleshoot minor problems during procedures and make necessary adjustments.
• Collect and/or review pertinent medical history and medication information.
• Assist with computerized charting and departmental quality improvement activities.

Required Experience

Graduate of an approved course in Radiologic Technology with hospital training during a two-year approved Radiologic Technologist program. Experience in other x-ray departments, clinics, or medical offices is highly desirable.

Certifications/Licensure

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must be a Registered ARRT Radiologic Technologist - RT(R) and/or NMTCB or Registered ARRT Nuclear Medicine - RT(N).
• Active membership with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
