Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. The role requires evaluation of the patient and recommendations for a treatment plan, ensuring effective communication and education regarding treatment purpose and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine treatments using various ventilatory equipment, including invasive and non-invasive methods, oxygen delivery devices, and nebulizers.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to aid secretion clearance.
• Conduct suctioning procedures (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
• Monitor patients using oximetry and capnography.
• Review chest x-rays and assist in procedures like bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
• Perform arterial puncture and track ventilation efficiency, including monitoring and documenting test results.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and maintain accurate records of treatment and patient responses.

Required Experience

Experience in performing detailed respiratory care procedures and familiarity with various respiratory care equipment.

Certifications/Licensure

Candidates must possess current respiratory therapy licensure and relevant certifications such as BLS and ACLS.
