This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

This position requires a night shift, working 7 shifts on followed by 7 shifts off, starting on Thursdays from 8 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician will support the pharmacy team by filling orders accurately, preparing extemporaneous preparations, and maintaining inventory controls. The role involves sterile preparations, handling medication distribution, and performing performance improvement initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction. The technician will also be expected to collaborate effectively within the department and demonstrate flexibility in their roles and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders promptly and accurately for pharmacist checking and dispensing.
• Prepare IVs and other sterile preparations with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
• Handle medication distribution via multiple methods to expedite services.
• Participate in restocking all areas and maintaining inventory control.
• Ensure compliance with labeling and documentation requirements.
• Assist in performance improvement initiatives and uphold department goals.
• Manage automated dispensing machines, including filling and monthly inspections.

Required Experience

Previous hospital pharmacy experience of at least 2 years is preferred. Experience in oncology or infusion center settings is a plus.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current active registration with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is preferred.
